Florida (FL) Energy & Efficient Window Performance Cash Rebates & Incentives. Cash rebates and incentives available to Florida homeowners who upgrade to energy efficient windows. 

This article discusses the cash rebates and incentives (including loans) available to homeowners in the state of Florida for upgrading to energy efficient windows. Some programs listed aim to improve home energy performance in general; others explicitly focus on efficient window performance. They may be offered by your state, your local energy supply company or the two working together. They can help you pay for the costs of upgrading or replacing the windows in your home.

Florida State Incentive and Rebate Programs:

At this time, there are no energy efficient window incentive programs offered by the state of Florida.

Florida Utility Company Sponsored Incentives and Rebate Programs:

  • Clay Electric Cooperative Incentive/Rebate Program - The Energy Conservation Loans program: Offers homeowners loans from $1,000 to $5,000 with interest rates ranging from eight to eleven percent. These loans are available to cover the costs of installing qualifying double-pane and storm windows.
  • Florida Power & Light (FPL Energy) Incentive/Rebate Program - Business Incentive Programs: Provides incentives for commercial and industrial customers to improve energy efficiency with lighting, heating and cooling measures. This program is available for commercial and industrial building owners and offers a $1 per square foot of window area rebate for the installation of qualifying window film and sunscreens. High-efficiency window replacements are also eligible for rebates when windows face west, southwest or northwest.
  • Gainesville Regional Utilities Incentive/Rebate Program - The Low Interest Energy Efficiency Loan Program: Offers homeowners loans up to $10,000 at a three percent interest rate for energy measures approved under the plan. The program includes loans that are available to cover the costs of installing ENERGY STAR windows and solar control window film or solar screens. All loans must be repaid within five years.
  • Orlando Utilities Commission Incentive/Rebate Program - The Home Rebate Program: Offers homeowners rebates which will cover 50 percent of the costs of installing window caulking and weather stripping. The maximum rebate amount available per homeowner is $500. Other rebates available for energy-efficiency measures include a $1 per square foot of window film or solar screening installed with a shade coefficient of 0.5 or less with a maximum rebate amount of $200. ENERGY STAR window replacements are also covered up to $2 per square foot of glass with a maximum rebate amount of $500.
  • Progress Energy Florida Incentive/Rebate Program - The Home Advantage Program: Plan provides incentives to homeowners including up to $100 per residence to help cover the costs of installing window film and/or window screens with a SHGC of 0.40 or less, or a shading coefficient of 0.45 or less. The program also offers a credit of $350 per new home where ENERGY STAR windows are installed.
  • Progress Energy Florida Incentive/Rebate Program - The Home Energy Check Audit and Rebate Program: Rebates of $1 per square foot of glass are available, with a maximum rebate amount of $250, to homeowners who install ENERGY STAR replacement windows in their homes. The program also covers 50 percent of the costs, up to a $100 maximum, for the installation of window film and/or screens that have a shading coefficient of 0.45 or less and a SGHC of .4 or less.
  • City of Tallahassee Utility Incentive/Rebate Program - The Solar and Efficiency Loans program: Offers homeowners loans at a five percent interest rate to cover the costs of installing qualifying energy efficient windows.
  • Tampa Electric Incentive/Rebate Program - The Building Envelope Improvement Program for Business: Provides a rebate of $1 per square foot of covered glass area (up to $55 per room) to business owners who install qualifying solar window film.
  • Tampa Electric Incentive/Rebate Program - The Building Envelope Improvement Program for Residential: Offers up to $350 to homeowners to help cover the costs of the total replacement of all existing windows in their homes with ENERGY STAR windows. The program also provides rebates to homeowners of $1 per square foot of glass, up to a $200 maximum, who install window film with a shading coefficient of 0.45 or less on all home windows exposed to the east and west.
  • Tampa Electric Incentive/Rebate Program - The Commercial Energy Efficiency Loan Program: Provides businesses loans up to $10,000 to cover the costs of installing ENERGY STAR window and glass door replacements. The program also provides loans up to $10,000 for the installation of solar screens and/or windows films with a minimum shading coefficient of 0.50.
  • Tampa Electric Incentive/Rebate Program - The Residential Energy Efficiency Loan Program: Offers homeowners loans up to $10,000 to cover the costs of installing ENERGY STAR window and glass door replacements. The program offers loans of up to $5,000 for the installation of solar screens and/or window films with a minimum shading coefficient of 0.50.
