Georgia (GA) Energy & Efficient Window Performance Cash Rebates & Incentives. Cash rebates and incentives available to Georgia homeowners who upgrade to energy efficient windows. 

This article discusses the cash rebates and incentives (including loans) available to homeowners in the state of Georgia for upgrading to energy efficient windows. Some programs listed aim to improve home energy performance in general; others explicitly focus on efficient window performance. They may be offered by your state, your local energy supply company or the two working together. They can help you pay for the costs of upgrading or replacing the windows in your home.

Georgia State Incentive and Rebate Programs:

  • State of Georgia Incentive/Rebate Program - Four Day Sales Tax Incentive for Energy Efficient Products program: Will pay 100 percent of sales tax to homeowners in the state of Georgia when you purchase energy efficient products during a four-day purchase period. Four –day period is established each year. ENERGY STAR windows are eligible under this program with a maximum sales tax credit amount of $1,500 per homeowner.

Georgia Utility Company Sponsored Incentives and Rebate Programs:

  • Amicalola Electric Incentive/Rebate Program - Energy Resource Conservation Loan Program: Offers loans to homeowners to cover the costs of weatherization improvements in the home. Program covers window and door replacement costs, storm doors and windows, shade screens and minor repair labor costs incurred when performing the qualifying installation work.
  • Carroll EMC Incentive/Rebate Program - Residential Energy Efficiency Loans: Provides homeowners with loans of up to $1,500 to cover the costs of home weatherization improvements such as window caulking and weather stripping doors and windows.
  • Habersham EMC Incentive/Rebate Program - Energy Efficient Loan Program: Offers loans to homeowners with a five percent interest rate to cover the costs of installing qualifying replacement windows that provide energy savings.
  • Satilla REMC Incentive/Rebate Program: Home Improvement Program: Provides loans to homeowners of up to $25,000 to cover the costs of energy efficient home improvements which qualify under the program. Installing energy efficient windows and doors are eligible under the plan.
  • Sawnee EMC Incentive/Rebate Program - Commercial Energy Center program: Offers a 50 percent rebate to cover the costs of purchasing and installing solar control window film. The maximum amount available per household is $150.
  • Walton EMC Incentive/Rebate Program - HomePlus Loan Program: Provides loans to homeowners of up to $5,500 to cover the costs of weatherization improvements made to existing residential buildings. Loans are available at a 5 percent interest rate and may be used to cover costs such as window caulking and for the installation of new ENERGY STAR windows.
