Idaho (ID) Energy & Efficient Window Performance Cash Rebates & Incentives. Cash rebates and incentives available to Idaho homeowners who upgrade to energy efficient windows.

This article discusses the cash rebates and incentives (including loans) available to homeowners in the state of Idaho for upgrading to energy efficient windows. Some programs listed aim to improve home energy performance in general; others explicitly focus on efficient window performance. They may be offered by your state, your local energy supply company or the two working together. They can help you pay for the costs of upgrading or replacing the windows in your home.

Idaho State Incentive and Rebate Programs:

  • State of Idaho Incentive/Rebate Program - Insulation Income Tax Deduction program: Offers homeowners income tax deductions which may be applied to 100 percent of the costs of materials and labor for qualifying insulation measures. The program covers window caulking as well as installing qualifying, energy efficient windows in homes which were built before 1976.

Idaho Utility Company Sponsored Incentives and Rebate Programs:

  • Avista Utilities Incentive/Rebate Program - Residential Rebates and Incentive Program: Offers homeowners cash rebates of $3 per square foot of window area when you upgrade to ENERGY STAR windows.
  • Idaho Power Incentive/Rebate Program - Building Efficiency for Construction Project Program: Provides businesses rebates of $0.50 per square foot of window glass area to help cover the costs of installing ENERGY STAR windows in commercial construction.
  • Idaho Power Incentive/Rebate Program - Easy Upgrades Program: Offers homeowners numerous incentives for making window energy improvements including $1.50 per square foot of glass rebate when you install ENERGY STAR windows. Also available through this program is a $1.00 per square foot of glass rebate for installing windows with a SHGC of .40 or less and a U-factor of .42 or less. An additional rebate of $0.50 per square foot of glass area is available for installing qualifying window shade film or screens.
  • Rocky Mountain Power Incentive/Rebate Program - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program: Offers homeowners rebates of $1.50 per square foot of glass area which may be applied to the costs of installing ENERGY STAR windows in the home.
