Louisiana (LA) Energy & Efficient Window Performance Cash Rebates & Incentives. Cash rebates and incentives available to Louisiana homeowners who upgrade to energy efficient windows.

This article discusses the cash rebates and incentives (including loans) available to homeowners in the state of Louisiana for upgrading to energy efficient windows. Some programs listed aim to improve home energy performance in general; others explicitly focus on efficient window performance. They may be offered by your state, your local energy supply company or the two working together. They can help you pay for the costs of upgrading or replacing the windows in your home.

Louisiana State Incentive and Rebate Programs:

  • EmPower Louisiana - Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Incentive/Rebate Program - Home Energy Rebate Option (HERO) New Homes Program: Provides a cash rebate up to $2,000 to owners of new homes that achieve a HERS score of 70. Program also offers a $3,000 rebate for homes that receive a 50 percent energy savings over the 2004 IECC with 1/5 of the savings coming from building energy efficiency improvements.
  • EmPower Louisiana - Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Incentive/Rebate Program - Home Energy Rebate Option (HERO) Existing Homes Program: Offers homeowners a cash rebate up to $3,000 for making qualifying energy improvements to the home. Efforts covered under the program include installing qualifying replacement windows that result in 30 percent or more in annual energy savings.
  • EmPower Louisiana - Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Incentive/Rebate Program - Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) Program: Provides homeowners a cash rebate for improving the energy performance of their home by more than 50 percent. Low interest rate loans of up to $6,000 are available to cover 50 percent of the costs of making energy-efficiency improvements to an existing home. Qualifying measures include the installation of ENERGY STAR windows. All loans must be repaid within five years.

Louisiana Utility Company Sponsored Incentives and Rebate Programs:

  • CLECO (Central Louisiana Electric Company) Incentive/Rebate Program - Power Miser Homes Program: Assists homeowners in building energy-efficient homes by offering cash incentive rebates. Double-pane, low-E windows with a U-factor of 0.70 or less and a SHGC of 0.40 or less are among the measures which qualify homeowners to receive a 10 percent energy bill cash rebate on new homes.
